Joshua Tree National Park is where two deserts meet: the higher Mojave across the north, home of the Joshua trees, and the lower Colorado Desert, part of the Sonoran, in the south and east. Its elevation runs from 536 feet at the southeastern boundary to 5,814 feet on Quail Mountain. Joshua Tree National Monument was established on August 10, 1936, and became a national park on October 31, 1994; the park now covers 795,156 acres.

The curated map area is a rectangle of about 113 by 53 kilometers around the park, so it includes land outside its boundary. In the Contours preview, the Little San Bernardino Mountains and the other ranges form knots of dense rings, open desert basins spread between them with few lines, and the park's highlands run as a band across the middle of the sheet.

The preview is the Contours export for this map area in the canyon palette on cream paper, a 24 × 18 inch landscape sheet, generated from public elevation data. In the creator you can change the contour interval, colors and title, or switch to Ridgeline or Strata. Choose 3D Terrain Model to download the park as a printable STL or 3MF.
