The Kona course, printed.

Swim, bike and run of the world championship triathlon course in Kailua-Kona, drawn from real elevation data of the Big Island's lava coast. Make it a poster or a 3D terrain model, with your name and times under it. Pay what you want.

Printed Canyon is an independent map-art studio with no connection to the race organiser or any triathlon brand. Course and place names describe where the course goes; the organiser's course page has the official files.

Three legs, three prints

Each leg on its own sheet.

The swim as a loop off Kailua Pier, the bike up the lava coast to Hāwī with the volcanoes behind it, the marathon up Palani Road and out to the Energy Lab. Or all three on the full-course print.

One course, three styles

Swim, bike and run on one sheet, in the style you like.

Each leg keeps its own color. Ridgeline shows the island's west coast in elevation lines, Contours maps the whole Big Island, and Strata lights the volcanoes like cooling lava. Open any of them with your name and times already set.

Your race on the print

Add your name and your splits.

Type your swim, bike, run and finish times. The studio opens with them set as the caption under the course, ready to adjust, recolor and download.

Every line stays editable in the studio. Nothing is uploaded until you download the files.

Beyond the course

The islands the course is drawn on.

Mauna Kea and the volcanoes behind the Queen K, Haleakalā across the channel, the Nā Pali cliffs and Oʻahu. Each opens in the studio with a style already chosen.

The course

A full-distance triathlon, mostly on lava.

The race starts in the water off Kailua Pier, rides the Queen Kaʻahumanu Highway north through the Kohala lava fields to Hāwī and back, then runs Aliʻi Drive, Palani Road and the Queen K to the Natural Energy Laboratory before the finish on Aliʻi Drive. The prints follow the organiser's published 2026 course maps.

Course figures from the organiser's course page. Bundled course tracks are artwork drawn on OpenStreetMap road geometry to follow the published course maps. They are not official course files or navigation guidance. Track geometry © OpenStreetMap contributors, routed to follow the published maps.

Kona course poster questions

Can I print my own Kona race?

Yes. Type your name and splits into the form and the studio writes them under the course. For your exact line, upload the GPX your watch recorded instead; the bundled course is replaced by your file and the caption stays editable.

Is this an official race product?

No. Printed Canyon is an independent map-art studio with no connection to the race organiser or any triathlon brand. The course tracks are drawn on OpenStreetMap roads to follow the organiser's published 2026 maps, and we sell only our own map art.

What do I get, and what does it cost?

Print-ready PNG, PDF and SVG files for a poster, or STL, 3MF and GLB for a 3D terrain model with the course embossed on it. Downloads are pay what you want, including free, with no account.

Which style suits the course best?

Ridgeline shows the whole course and the bike leg over the slopes of Hualālai and Kohala and frames the swim at the pier. Each leg can be switched to Strata layers or Contours in the studio with one click.

Can I gift one to an athlete racing this weekend?

Yes. Make the poster with their name and finishing time once results are in, download the PDF and have it printed locally, or send the file. Links stay live for 30 days.

The course files are also on the sample GPX files page, and every place in Hawaiʻi is on Places.
