1. Overview
Printed Canyon is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. We designed Printed Canyon to minimize data collection — we don't require accounts and we don't sell your data.
2. Data We Collect
We collect only what's necessary to provide the Service: (a) GPX files you upload, processed temporarily to generate terrain models; (b) email address, only if you voluntarily provide it during checkout for payment receipts; (c) payment information, processed entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details; (d) basic analytics data via Google Analytics, such as page views, referrers, approximate location, and aggregate usage events.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your GPX files are used solely to generate your terrain model. They are stored temporarily during processing and for download availability (up to 30 days for paid models). We do not analyze, share, or retain your GPS track data beyond what is needed to deliver your model. Email addresses provided during checkout are used only for payment receipts via Stripe.
4. Data Storage & Retention
Generated models and associated metadata are stored in our database for up to 30 days after creation. Unpaid models are automatically cleaned up after this period. Paid model records are retained for payment accounting purposes. All data is stored on servers located in the United States.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services: (a) Stripe — for secure payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy (https://stripe.com/privacy) governs their handling of your payment data; (b) Google Analytics — for aggregate traffic and conversion measurement; (c) Public elevation data providers (such as USGS, NASA SRTM, and other open DEM services) — for terrain elevation data. These are public data sources; no personal data is shared with them.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to: (a) access any personal data we hold about you; (b) request deletion of your data; (c) opt out of analytics by using a browser extension or ad blocker; (d) not provide an email during checkout — it is entirely optional. Since we don't require accounts and collect minimal data, most users have no personal data stored with us beyond temporary processing data.
8. Children's Privacy
Printed Canyon is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
