Connecticut is a small state of low hills. The highest ground is in the northwest, where the south slope of Mount Frissell reaches 2,380 feet (725 m) at the Massachusetts line; the summit itself is in Massachusetts. The Connecticut River crosses the state from north to south through a broad central lowland, and the land falls away to sea level along Long Island Sound.

In the Contours preview, the western hills fill the left of the outline with tight, busy rings, the central valley opens up as a paler corridor, and the eastern uplands carry a second band of smaller rings toward Rhode Island. The coast runs along the bottom edge, where the lines thin out.

The preview is the Contours export for Connecticut with the canyon palette on cream paper, at 18 × 24 inches. In the creator a larger contour interval simplifies the hills; you can also change the colors and title or switch to Ridgeline, Strata or a 3D terrain model.

Questions about the Connecticut artwork

Why is Connecticut's highest point on a slope instead of a summit?
Mount Frissell's summit lies just over the line in Massachusetts. The highest ground inside Connecticut is on its south slope, at 2,380 feet, which is why USGS lists the slope rather than a peak.
Can I make a 3D-printable model of the whole state?
Yes. Switch the product to 3D Terrain Model in the creator to preview the state as a relief model and download STL, 3MF or GLB. Choose a model size that fits your printer and check the slicer preview before printing.
How much does it cost?
Downloads are pay what you want, including free. You can add a contribution at checkout if the artwork or model is worth it to you. No account is needed.
Do you ship a printed poster or a 3D print?
No. Printed Canyon delivers digital files only: PNG, PDF and SVG for posters, and STL, 3MF and GLB for terrain models. You print them at home or through a print shop or 3D-printing service of your choice.
