Amsterdam's canal ring, the Grachtengordel, was dug in the 17th century as concentric canals around the medieval center: the Singel, Herengracht, Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht. The ring became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010.
The curated map area is about 2.6 by 3.1 kilometers around the ring. The Wash preview fills the water in blue, the buildings in brick and the parks in green, so the canals show as pale bands curving between rows of houses.
Buildings, water and parks come from OpenStreetMap contributors and Overture Maps Foundation. In the creator you can switch to Footprints, Blueprint or Street Compass, change every color, or move the area.

Questions about the Amsterdam artwork
- Which canals does the Amsterdam poster show?
- The four main canals of the ring, the Singel, Herengracht, Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht, with the Amstel and the smaller cross canals that join them. Move or enlarge the area in the creator to take in the IJ or the Vondelpark.
- Can I make a City poster of my own neighborhood?
- Yes. Search any place in the creator and choose City, then frame an area up to 10 km across. Where buildings are mapped, every footprint is drawn; you can upload a GPX file to draw a run or walk through the streets.
- How much does it cost?
- Downloads are pay what you want, including free. You can add a contribution at checkout if the artwork or model is worth it to you. No account is needed.
- Do you ship a printed poster or a 3D print?
- No. Printed Canyon delivers digital files only: PNG, PDF and SVG for posters, and STL, 3MF and GLB for terrain models. You print them at home or through a print shop or 3D-printing service of your choice.
