Maryland crosses every major landform of the Mid-Atlantic in a short distance. Its narrow western arm reaches into the Appalachian Plateau, where Hoye-Crest on Backbone Mountain is the highest point at 3,360 feet (1,024 m). East of the mountains come the ridges and valleys, the Piedmont hills around Baltimore, and the coastal plain of the Chesapeake Bay and the Eastern Shore, which meet the Atlantic at sea level.

In the Ridgeline preview, the western arm rises as a band of sharp crests at the upper left, the lines calm across the Piedmont, and the Eastern Shore lies flat on the right. Chesapeake Bay and its rivers cut deep blank inlets into the profiles.

The preview is the Ridgeline export for Maryland with dark lines on light paper, on a 24 × 18 inch landscape sheet. In the creator you can adjust line density, perspective, colors and title, or switch to Contours, Strata or a 3D model.

Questions about the Maryland artwork

Does the Maryland map include Chesapeake Bay?
The bay is water, so the terrain stops at its shores and the bay shows as blank inlets inside the state outline. Search Annapolis or the Eastern Shore in the creator to frame part of the bay more closely.
Can I make a 3D-printable model of the whole state?
Yes. Switch the product to 3D Terrain Model in the creator to preview the state as a relief model and download STL, 3MF or GLB. Choose a model size that fits your printer and check the slicer preview before printing.
How much does it cost?
Downloads are pay what you want, including free. You can add a contribution at checkout if the artwork or model is worth it to you. No account is needed.
Do you ship a printed poster or a 3D print?
No. Printed Canyon delivers digital files only: PNG, PDF and SVG for posters, and STL, 3MF and GLB for terrain models. You print them at home or through a print shop or 3D-printing service of your choice.
