Washington's geological survey divides the state into nine geologic provinces, from the Olympic Mountains and the North and South Cascades to the Columbia Basin, the Okanogan and the Blue Mountains. Mount Rainier in the Cascades is the highest point at 14,411 feet (4,392 m), and the lowest is sea level on the Pacific.
