Kansas is known as flat, but across the state the land climbs more than 3,000 feet. The lowest point is the Verdigris River at the Oklahoma line in the southeast, at 679 feet (207 m), and the highest is Mount Sunflower near the Colorado border, at 4,039 feet (1,231 m), a gentle rise on the High Plains rather than a peak. The Flint Hills cross the east, and river valleys such as the Arkansas and the Smoky Hill cut across the middle.
The Strata preview shows that rise as color. The western High Plains take the palest sandstone bands, the colors deepen steadily eastward, and the darkest orange fills the lower, more broken country of the east, where small lakes appear as dark spots.
The preview is the Strata export for Kansas in the default sandstone palette, on a 24 × 18 inch landscape sheet. In the creator you can change the palette, vertical exaggeration, background and title, or switch to Ridgeline, Contours or a 3D terrain model.

What you can make from Kansas
Poster. Keep the Strata preview or switch to another poster style. Set the title, colors and size, then download PNG, PDF or SVG and print it yourself or through a print shop.
3D terrain model. Choose the 3D Terrain Model product to turn the same state into a printable relief. Adjust the model size, base and vertical exaggeration, preview it in the browser, then download STL or 3MF for your slicer.

Questions about the Kansas artwork
- Is Kansas really flatter than a pancake?
- Not in elevation terms: the state rises from 679 feet in the southeast to 4,039 feet at Mount Sunflower. The slope is so gradual that it is hard to see on the ground, which is why the poster's elevation bands make it plain.
- Can I make a 3D-printable model of the whole state?
- Yes. Switch the product to 3D Terrain Model in the creator to preview the state as a relief model and download STL, 3MF or GLB. Choose a model size that fits your printer and check the slicer preview before printing.
- How much does it cost?
- Downloads are pay what you want, including free. You can add a contribution at checkout if the artwork or model is worth it to you. No account is needed.
- Do you ship a printed poster or a 3D print?
- No. Printed Canyon delivers digital files only: PNG, PDF and SVG for posters, and STL, 3MF and GLB for terrain models. You print them at home or through a print shop or 3D-printing service of your choice.
