Mississippi is low: its mean elevation is about 300 feet (91 m), and Woodall Mountain in the northeastern corner, the highest point, reaches only 806 feet (246 m). In the northwest, the Mississippi Delta is a flat alluvial plain between the Mississippi and Yazoo rivers. East of the bluffs the land becomes rolling hills, and in the south it slopes down to the Gulf Coast.

The Contours preview shows that split clearly. The Delta along the western border is almost empty of lines, a pale flat strip, while the hills to the east fill with branching rings that trace the river valleys. The lines thin again toward the coast at the bottom of the outline.

The preview is the Contours export for Mississippi with the canyon palette on cream paper, at 18 × 24 inches. In the creator a smaller contour interval adds detail to the flatlands; you can also change the colors and title or switch to Strata, Ridgeline or a 3D model.

Questions about the Mississippi artwork

Why is the Delta side of the poster nearly blank?
The Mississippi Delta is a floodplain with very little relief, so few contour lines cross it at the default interval. Lower the interval in the creator to draw more of its subtle levees and channels.
Can I make a 3D-printable model of the whole state?
Yes. Switch the product to 3D Terrain Model in the creator to preview the state as a relief model and download STL, 3MF or GLB. Choose a model size that fits your printer and check the slicer preview before printing.
How much does it cost?
Downloads are pay what you want, including free. You can add a contribution at checkout if the artwork or model is worth it to you. No account is needed.
Do you ship a printed poster or a 3D print?
No. Printed Canyon delivers digital files only: PNG, PDF and SVG for posters, and STL, 3MF and GLB for terrain models. You print them at home or through a print shop or 3D-printing service of your choice.
