Kentucky runs from the Appalachian Mountains in the east to the Mississippi River in the west. Black Mountain on the Virginia line is the highest point at 4,145 feet (1,263 m), and the lowest is the Mississippi in the far west, at 257 feet (78 m). Between them lie the dissected Cumberland Plateau, the rolling Bluegrass region around Lexington and the Pennyroyal Plateau, whose limestone holds Mammoth Cave, the longest known cave system in the world.

In the Strata preview, the eastern mountains rise as the palest, most sharply folded bands along the southeastern edge, and the greens darken and smooth out across the plateaus and the Bluegrass toward the west. The Ohio River traces the long northern border.

The preview is the Strata export for Kentucky with the forest palette, on a 24 × 18 inch landscape sheet. In the creator you can change the palette, exaggeration and title, or switch to Ridgeline, Contours or a 3D terrain model.

Questions about the Kentucky artwork

Does the map show Mammoth Cave?
No. Elevation data records the ground surface, not caves beneath it. You can frame Mammoth Cave National Park by searching it in the creator to show the ridges and sinkholes above the cave.
Can I make a 3D-printable model of the whole state?
Yes. Switch the product to 3D Terrain Model in the creator to preview the state as a relief model and download STL, 3MF or GLB. Choose a model size that fits your printer and check the slicer preview before printing.
How much does it cost?
Downloads are pay what you want, including free. You can add a contribution at checkout if the artwork or model is worth it to you. No account is needed.
Do you ship a printed poster or a 3D print?
No. Printed Canyon delivers digital files only: PNG, PDF and SVG for posters, and STL, 3MF and GLB for terrain models. You print them at home or through a print shop or 3D-printing service of your choice.
